Born and raised in Midland, Texas, Lance is a third-generation petroleum engineer. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father by attending The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. In 2011, he began his career with Saga Petroleum, gaining experience in reservoir, production, and operations engineering. After eight years with Saga, Lance worked closely with his father to further develop his understanding of managing and operating an independent oil and gas company. He later expanded his corporate experience with FireBird Energy and SM Energy before continuing his career in senior engineering and leadership roles across the Permian Basin.

His experience includes reservoir and production engineering, artificial lift optimization, workover and recompletion design, asset evaluation, reserve forecasting, facilities development, acquisitions and divestitures, economic analysis, budget management, plugging and abandonment programs, and the management of multidisciplinary field operations throughout the Permian Basin. He has successfully led capital projects, optimized artificial lift systems, supervised field personnel, and collaborated across technical and business disciplines to maximize operational efficiency and asset value.

Lance is actively involved in the Midland Rotary Club, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and serves on the Board of the Southwestern Petroleum Short Course. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their two sons, Luke and Connor. He is also a member of Midland's BOA running group and has completed 12 marathons, always looking ahead to the next one.

V3 Petro Consulting was founded to provide practical, results-driven petroleum engineering and operations support to oil and gas operators. Drawing on more than 15 years of experience in the Permian Basin, I bring expertise gained from working with both large public companies and small independent operators.

My experience spans the full lifecycle of producing assets, from artificial lift design and production optimization to workovers, facilities, and asset evaluation. I have been involved in facility construction and expansion projects, water takeaway systems, waterflood infrastructure and facilities, production surveillance, and field operations management. Just as importantly, I understand the day-to-day challenges operators face and provide practical solutions that improve performance, control costs, and maximize asset value.

Throughout my career, I have led artificial lift optimization programs, managed workovers and well interventions, developed operating procedures, supervised field operations, evaluated asset economics, and supported facility and infrastructure projects. Whether working in the office or in the field, my focus has always been on improving reliability, reducing operating costs, and maximizing production.

V3 Petro Consulting was created to provide operators with experienced engineering support when they need it, without the commitment of adding full-time staff. I can assist with one-time projects, specialized technical evaluations, field supervision, or longer-term embedded engineering support. Whether the need is a few days of field oversight, assistance with a workover program, an economic evaluation, or ongoing production engineering support, I provide practical solutions tailored to each client's objectives.

No project is too small. My goal is to serve as a trusted resource that bridges the gap between technical planning and successful field execution, helping operators make informed decisions and achieve better results.
